Tree Planting Masterplan

Located on a once-thriving industrial site this proposed residential development lies just 100mm from the River Tyne and offers tremendous scope for public access to it’s wooded banks.  Collaborating with Ryder HKS Architects RLD was responsible for an extensive site appraisal which informed the masterplan and for the subsequent landscape strategy.  The development is distinguished by the contrast of modern urban edge and rolling country park setting, and proposals include thoughtful boundary treatments, avenues to frame strategic views into and out of site and PPG3 compliant measures for streetscapes.  The primary aspiration to provide a sense of place is achieved in part by the retenion and careful management of existing landscape features and the design seeks to provide a network of safe, accessible and pleasant green spaces which enhance local wildlife potential.
