Wynyard

The practice acted as landscape architect in the development of the landscape masterplan for the housing, golf and business park mixed development at Wynyard Hall, Stockton-on-Tees. This was a long term planning and development exercise in a 19th century estate with a Grade 1 listed building as the Hall.

The capital value of the landscape works to create the new golf courses and development cells was approximately £1 million. Work also included the creation of screen landforms, major landmark earthworks and the a new lake to act as a reservoir for the irrigation of the golf greens. Early phase work included parkland planting to the principal streets.

Co-ordination with ecologists, house builders and planners was a constant issue; and the project included the commissioning and construction of an obelisk for the new parkland.
