One of the main ways in which we can all be better Stewards of the Earth's Resources is by recycling more of our waste - or better still reducing the amount of waste we make, or re-using our waste.

RLD are sponsoring Revd Jon Hale during Autumn 2007 to take a sabbatical to enable him to travel in the UK to research community approaches to sustainable waste management, as well as taking a retreat in northwest Scotland.

Update 16.01.08

GOD DOESN’T DO WASTE
A new quarterly bulletin to be compiled and published by the Revd Jon Hale, inspired by the Archbishop of Canterbury’s New Year address from Canterbury Cathedral and a household waste recycling site in which he said: ‘God doesn’t do waste’.

The first edition of GOD DOESN’T DO WASTE will be published on 1st April 2008.
The Aim: make connections between waste and faith.

Three main sections in each issue covering:
1. Current issues in sustainable waste management.
2. Current opportunities for the church to promote sustainable waste management, sourced from original research by Jon Hale, building on his sabbatical research project report Opportunities for the church to promote sustainable waste management in England.
3. Current issues in waste planning.

GOD DOESN’T DO WASTE will be published on www.earthresources.org.uk
